Northfield, IL | Onsite | Direct Hire | $25–$30/hour
Are you an experienced bookkeeper who enjoys keeping things organized, solving problems, and being an important part of a team?
TalentFish is hiring a Bookkeeper / Accounting Specialist for an established, family-owned service and installation company in Northfield, IL.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on accounting, takes pride in accuracy, and prefers a collaborative, close-knit work environment.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Managing day-to-day accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Preparing customer invoices and applying deposits and payments
- Reconciling bank and credit card accounts
- Recording transactions and maintaining accurate financial records
- Supporting month-end reporting and general ledger activities
- Working with the service and operations teams to ensure accurate billing
- Communicating with customers and vendors to resolve billing questions
What We're Looking For:
- At least 2 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
- Solid knowledge of AP, AR, bank reconciliations, and basic general ledger accounting
- Experience with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong communication skills and dependable follow-through
Even Better If You Have:
- QuickBooks experience
- Experience with a small business, contractor, or service company
- Familiarity with job-based billing, work orders, or customer deposits
Compensation & Benefits:
- $25–$30/hour, depending on experience
- Full-time, direct-hire opportunity

Location: Northfield, IL — 100% onsite. Candidates must be able to commute reliably.
