Work Environment

This position is located within our outpatient office in Macon, Georgia, a bustling community known for its warm Southern hospitality. The workspace is designed for collaboration and efficiency, ensuring our team operates smoothly to deliver timely healthcare services. The office hours are set from 9 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend and evening rotations required depending on patient needs and organizational demand. Key Responsibilities

As a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Conducting initial patient assessments by taking detailed histories and performing thorough physical examinations to establish health baselines.
• Developing and documenting individualized plans of care based on comprehensive evaluations, and ensuring that follow-up actions are taken for complete screening.
• Carrying out daily patient rounds to monitor ongoing health concerns and treatment responses.
• Ordering, interpreting, and following up on laboratory work and diagnostic tests to provide timely treatment and care adjustments.
• Collaborating with physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare providers to ensure a cohesive and high-quality approach to patient care.
• Documenting all essential patient information, including discharge summaries, prescriptions, and necessary referrals upon discharge.
• Educating and advising patients on post-discharge care, emphasizing the importance of follow-up appointments and health screenings.
• Participating in staff meetings and ongoing training to remain updated on best practices in women's health and evolving medical guidelines.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary focus of your practice will be women of all ages, providing care that covers a spectrum of needs from adolescence through menopause and beyond. You will encounter diverse health concerns including reproductive health issues, chronic conditions, and preventive medical care. Cultural competence and sensitivity will be pivotal in delivering optimal care to our varied patient demographic.

Qualifications

To qualify for this role, candidates must possess:

• A Master’s Degree in Nursing, with a specialization in Nurse Practitioner studies.
• National Board Certification in the relevant specialty area.
• A valid Nurse Practitioner license issued in Georgia.
• Current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in Georgia.
• A collaborative practice agreement, or provide proof of collaborative relationship as per regulations.
• Continuing education must be kept current to ensure compliance with healthcare standards.

Preferred Experience

While a minimum of one year relevant nursing experience is required, we prefer candidates with background specifically in women's health or related specialty areas. Familiarity with electronic health record systems and experience in outpatient settings are advantageous, enhancing your capability to provide efficient and high-quality patient care.
