Job Description

The Benefits Technology Specialist supports employee benefits administration and open enrollment activities during a seasonal assignment. In this role, you work closely with internal teams, Human Resources professionals, and Benefits Administrators to configure, maintain, and support online benefits enrollment platforms. You use administrative technologies, HRIS systems, and Microsoft Excel to ensure accurate benefits data, smooth enrollment processes, and timely completion of critical deadlines in a fast-paced environment. This is an entry-level role within a rapidly growing organization that offers a strong opportunity for advancement based on performance and participation in an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP).

Responsibilities

• Configure, renew, and maintain employee benefits enrollment portals within a benefits administration or HRIS platform.
• Support open enrollment activities, including system setup, testing, validation, and ongoing maintenance throughout the enrollment period.
• Investigate and troubleshoot enrollment issues, system discrepancies, and user concerns, and identify effective solutions in a timely manner.
• Ensure accurate data entry and maintenance of internal systems and records related to employee benefits.
• Follow established workflows, procedures, and project timelines to meet critical deadlines and support smooth benefits administration.
• Provide administrative and project support to the Benefits Technology and Benefits Administration teams as needed.
• Assist with quality assurance testing and verification of benefit plan configurations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Communicate professionally with internal stakeholders and client contacts regarding enrollment-related questions, system updates, and process changes.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of employee, client, and company information at all times.
• Adhere to company policies, procedures, and compliance standards in all aspects of benefits technology and administration work.
• Deliver customer service and administrative support to internal users and stakeholders using benefits systems and tools.

Essential Skills

• At least 2 years of administrative experience.
• Experience working with administrative technologies and HRIS systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record maintenance.
• Experience or familiarity with benefits administration and benefits enrollment processes.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills to investigate and resolve system and enrollment issues.
• Solid administrative skills, including office administration and administrative support.
• Effective customer service skills when working with internal stakeholders and client contacts.
• Ability to follow established workflows, procedures, and project timelines.
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to company policies and compliance standards.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with benefits administration software platforms is preferred.
• Experience supporting Human Resources and benefits administration functions.
• Strong organizational skills to handle multiple projects and priorities.
• Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with Benefits Technology, Benefits Administration, and HR teams.
• Interest in growing within a rapidly expanding organization with a clear corporate ladder.
• Eligibility to participate over time in an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), reflecting a long-term commitment to the organization.

Work Environment

This role is based in an upstate office environment and follows a standard Monday through Friday schedule, generally between 8:00/9:00 AM and 5:00/6:00 PM. You work on-site with internal teams using HRIS and benefits administration platforms, Microsoft Excel, and other Microsoft Office tools. The setting is corporate and fast-paced, with a focus on accuracy, confidentiality, and collaboration. The organization is rapidly growing and offers opportunities for advancement as well as participation over time in an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP).

This is a Contract position based out of Latham, NY.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
