Survey Instrument Operator

Overview We are seeking a Survey Instrument Operator to join our team in Columbia, SC. This field‑based position supports our land surveying projects throughout the area and requires regular overnight travel. Responsibilities Perform technical tasks in the field with a high degree of accuracy and professionalism. Work closely with land surveyors, clients, and supervisors to meet project requirements and safety regulations. Use Trimble survey equipment and other basic survey tools for ALTA, boundary, topographic, utility, construction layout, and telecom surveys. Conduct equipment maintenance tasks as needed. Support cross‑training opportunities and assist in resolving field workflow issues. Be able to lift 50 pounds, walk for extended periods, work in all weather conditions, and work evenings, weekends, and overnight projects as required. Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of relevant survey field experience. High school diploma or GED. Valid driver’s license. Ability to maintain required certifications. Experience on a survey field crew performing utility, ALTA, boundary, topographic, construction layout, and telecom surveys. Pre‑employment drug screening and background checks are required.
