The Payroll Analyst will act as backup for members of the payroll team, and be a resource to employees and perform related duties as required.Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)Processes bi-weekly payroll.Understand the Dayforce payroll system as a ProcessorProvide support for ongoing payroll operational activitiesProvide payroll process expertise as a project team member on departmental and cross-functional initiativesSolve a variety of complex problems, conduct research, gather and compile information for reports and analyze resultsRegularly review current processes and procedures and make recommendations for improvements to SOP or systems to enhance performance and create efficiencies.Participate in developing and testing new and/or existing payroll processes and procedures when system and business requirements changeParticipate in various payroll audits as required by internal and external audit teamsResearch compliance issues, IRS laws and states laws, to provide recommendations for improved compliance on internal payroll and payroll tax processesParticipate in payroll projects and opportunities as assignedWork closely with the Payroll Team to provide excellent customer service and be back up for payroll processing as neededAssist in resolving payroll related tax issues with Dayforce and the taxing agenciesAssist with Tax Registrations.Performs other related duties or projects as assigned by the Payroll Director.Job SpecificationsExperience with high volume, multi-state payroll environmentExperience in coordinating long-term and short-term planning in a fast-changing environmentAbility to work with all levels of management and deal effectively with team membersHave superior organization skillsGood communication and interpersonal skills when interacting with vendors, management, and team membersProficient in Word and ExcelAbility to lead and coach othersRequired Education and ExperienceBachelor's degree in a related field5-7 years of full cycle payroll processing experienceDeep knowledge with Payroll Tax, Withholdings, Filings, and Correspondence across multiple StatesCPP/FPC PreferredExperience with Dayforce Payroll and Workday a plusSupervisory/ResponsibilityThis position does not supervise team membersWork EnvironmentThis is an office position that has the potential to work from home one day a week.Position TypeThis is a regular, full-time position with the understanding that a regular workweek may require extended days and hours as needed to meet business needs.TravelOccasional domestic travel may be required for this position.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of the those performed in the job duties.
