- Conduct assessments for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients utilizing evidence-based methods.
- Create tailored treatment plans that address immediate and ongoing communication and swallowing needs.
- Deliver individualized speech therapy interventions emphasizing language, voice, fluency, and swallowing.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including therapists, nurses, and family members to ensure cohesive care.
- Provide education to patients and their families to facilitate progress beyond the clinical environment.
- Participate in inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions as needed to ensure comprehensive treatment.
- Document patient interactions accurately, adhering to all regulatory and organizational standards.
- Engage in lifelong learning through continued education and peer discussions to enhance your skills.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not ASHA-certified.
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of starting the position.
- Expertise in evidence-based practices across all age groups, well-versed in both developmental and acquired communication disorders.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills with the ability to connect effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Adaptability to adjust therapy approaches respecting diverse cultural backgrounds and communication styles.
- Critical thinking and clinical decision-making abilities that foster effective patient engagement.
- Comfort with electronic health records and relevant documentation protocols.
