Description
  • Conduct assessments for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients utilizing evidence-based methods.
  • Create tailored treatment plans that address immediate and ongoing communication and swallowing needs.
  • Deliver individualized speech therapy interventions emphasizing language, voice, fluency, and swallowing.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including therapists, nurses, and family members to ensure cohesive care.
  • Provide education to patients and their families to facilitate progress beyond the clinical environment.
  • Participate in inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions as needed to ensure comprehensive treatment.
  • Document patient interactions accurately, adhering to all regulatory and organizational standards.
  • Engage in lifelong learning through continued education and peer discussions to enhance your skills.
Education
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not ASHA-certified.
Certifications
  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of starting the position.
Skills
  • Expertise in evidence-based practices across all age groups, well-versed in both developmental and acquired communication disorders.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills with the ability to connect effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.
  • Adaptability to adjust therapy approaches respecting diverse cultural backgrounds and communication styles.
  • Critical thinking and clinical decision-making abilities that foster effective patient engagement.
  • Comfort with electronic health records and relevant documentation protocols.
