US Benefits Manager

Job Description We are seeking a Benefits Manager to manage the company’s US benefit programs as a member of the Global Total Rewards team. You will design the program and be accountable for the operational execution of the US benefits strategy, including regulatory compliance of Brinks’ offerings within the US. The ideal candidate partners closely with the Senior Director of Global Benefits, internal stakeholders, and external vendors—including brokers and carriers—to manage and continuously improve a benefits program that meets the diverse needs of our workforce while driving employee engagement, health, and retention. Key Responsibilities US Benefits Plan Administration Manage execution of the US benefits program for hourly and salaried employees across multiple states, ensuring competitiveness, compliance, and alignment with business goals. Partner with HR, Legal, Finance, and external parties to maintain comprehensive benefits plans tailored to regional and local regulations. Enhance employee experience while monitoring costs, forecasting, budgets, claims trends, and invoicing. Use data on benefits utilization, industry benchmarks, and best practices to continuously refine and optimize US benefits offerings. Wellness Assist in designing and implementing wellness programs and initiatives that promote mental, physical, and emotional well‑being, focusing on preventative care and work‑life balance. Monitor and assess the effectiveness of wellness initiatives, adjusting strategies based on employee feedback and key metrics. Leave Administration Maintain knowledge of leave programs, including parental leave, sick leave, and vacation time, ensuring adherence to local labor laws and regulations. Support the development and implementation of minimum standards for Global Benefits within the US. 401(k) Plans Support the development of strategy and lead management of the 401(k) to align with market standards and company objectives, including active participation in committee meetings and actions. Ensure compliance with US regulatory requirements and support employees in retirement planning. Compliance and Regulatory Oversight Comprehensive understanding of federal, state, and local regulations (ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, etc.) and full compliance. Ensure 401(k) and pension plan compliance and administration remain on track with regulatory requirements and optimized participation. Manage annual audits, non‑discrimination testing, and regulatory filings (5500s, ACA reporting, etc.). Partner with brokers, advisors, Legal, Payroll, and Finance to ensure compliance. Communication and Employee Engagement Develop clear and engaging communications and informational sessions to educate employees about US benefits and how to maximize them. Manage open enrollment cycles—coordinate vendors, educate employees, and update systems. Serve as the first point of escalation for complex US benefits queries that can’t be resolved by the Shared Service Center. Team Development Lead and mentor a US benefits shared service center team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams—including HR, Finance, Legal, and external vendors—to ensure alignment and successful execution of US benefits programs. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or professional qualifications/certifications in Benefits. Experience: 5‑10+ years in US benefits design and administration, preferably in a large‑scale organization and in a matrixed environment. Market Knowledge: Strong knowledge of US benefits trends, practices, and regulatory considerations. Commercial Acumen: Proficiency in managing benefit program budgets, invoicing, RFP processes, and vendor implementations. Technical Expertise: Deep technical knowledge of managing US benefits programs and compliance requirements. Systems: High proficiency with Workday or a global HRIS platform and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint). Hands‑on experience managing open enrollment cycles with the HRIS team. Personal Attributes Organizational and Communication Skills: Manage annual US benefits cycle and support new initiatives. Explain benefits clearly to all employee levels. Detail‑Oriented: Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Project Management: Ability to juggle multiple initiatives and drive them to completion. Vendor Management: Experience managing vendors, brokers, and consulting partners, including contract negotiation and performance evaluation. What’s Next?
