Staff Accountant

Staff AccountantSummary: The Staff Accountant is responsible for assisting in the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting and reporting of consolidated business results, and the integrity of the general ledger.Essential Job Functions:Prepare monthly journal entries.Prepare monthly account reconciliations, as assigned, to verify accuracy of account balances.Assist with variance analysis and provide explanations for fluctuations in financial results.Responsible for sending positive pay files to the bank.Maintain accurate cash balances and record daily activity.Assist with the Consolidated Fiscal Report, 990s, and other government related reports.Assist with external audits.Assist with preparation of agency budgets and forecasts.Complete 1099s timely and accurately.File abandoned property documentation annuallyReconcile 941's to the general ledger quarterly.Maintain schedule of rents and leases.Process invoices as requestedPerform special projects as assignedEnsure compliance with corporate accounting policies and procedures and internal controls.Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.Perform any other related duties as required by supervisor.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:MotivatedDetail-orientedAbility to communicate effectively, both orally and in writingProven ability to work independently and collaboratively with different levels of employeesExcellent time management and organization skillsAbility to meet a constant stream of deadlinesWilling to adapt to change, curious about innovation and modernization in dynamic workplace environment Familiarity with accounting software and programsFundamental understanding of GAAPEducation and Experience:• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required•No experience is required, newly grads welcome to applyPhysical Requirements/Working Conditions:Ability to sit continuouslyAbility to reach above shoulder levelAbility to turn/twist upper bodyAbility to use hand for repetitive action and fine manipulating for the purpose of keyboardingThe listed salary range represents the organization's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
