Shift: 12-Hour Days

Hours per Week: Varied (Typical 36-40 hours/week)

Employment Type: Contract / Per Diem

Licenses/Certifications: Active BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required

Experience: Minimum 2 years of acute care RN experience, prior MedSurg or ICU experience preferred

What You'll Do

• Provide specialized nursing care to patients with conditions such as respiratory failure, sepsis, stroke, DKA, post-heart catheterization, and post-arteriogram/arteriotomy
• Manage patient vital signs, administer medications, and perform clinical procedures including CVL management, foley cath care, tube feedings (NGT or PEG), arterial line management, and insulin/Drip titration
• Collaborate with healthcare team members, including hospitalists, RTs, PT, OT, and ST staff
• Monitor patient progress and respond to changes in condition promptly
• Assist in patient assessments, documentation using Meditech Expanse EMR, and ensuring adherence to hospital protocols
• Float to different units including Stroke and Medical-Surgical floors, with flexibility for frequent coverage

What You Need

• Valid RN license in Louisiana or the ability to obtain one prior to assignment
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications (current)
• Minimum 2 years of acute care RN experience, including MedSurg or ICU settings
• Competency in EKG interpretation and critical care procedures (passability required pre-arrival)
• Strong clinical skills in patient management, IV placement, arterial lines, and infusion therapy
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate professionalism at all times
