What You'll Do:

• Provide direct patient care to a variety of acute care cases including cardiac, stroke, and surgical patients
• Monitor and titrate medications, including IV drips for Cardene, Cardizem, Insulin, Heparin, Neo, Levophed (subject to manager approval)
• Manage chest tubes, tracheostomies, lumbar drains, and participate in EKG competency assessments
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including hospitalists, RT, OT, PT, and ST to deliver optimal patient outcomes
• Document patient care accurately in the EMR (Meditech Expanse) and utilize hospital equipment such as IV pumps and Pyxis medication dispensing systems
• Support unit efficiency by assisting with admissions, discharges, and patient monitoring in a high-acuity environment
• Comply with hospital policies regarding scrubs, badges, and safety protocols

What You Need:

• Valid RN license in Louisiana or eligible for licensure
• 2+ years of recent acute care experience in a fast-paced hospital setting
• BLS, ACLS, and NIH certifications required
• Ability to pass an EKG competency assessment
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Flexibility to work night shifts, weekends, and holidays as scheduled

About the Assignment:
This assignment is located at a leading facility in Shreveport, Louisiana, which features a 24-bed PCU unit specializing in cardiac and neurological patient care. The unit supports a collaborative environment with multidisciplinary teams and advanced medical technology. You will join a dedicated team committed to patient safety and quality care during your 12-week tenure, working every other weekend with a 5/2 schedule and scope of responsibilities consistent with a high-functioning acute care unit.
