Shift: 12-hour Night Shifts, 5/2 schedule (alternating weekly groups)

Hours/week: 36-40 hours

Employment Type: Contract

Licenses/Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale required

Experience: Minimum 2 years of acute care RN experience; recent perioperative or medical-surgical experience preferred

Hourly Rate: $50.25/hour

What You'll Do

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult patients in a 24-bed PCU unit
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, including those with AFIB/RVR, DKA, HTN, COPD, ARF, after heart caths, stroke patients needing TPA, and post-surgical spinal patients
• Administer titratable medications like Cardene, Cardizem, insulin, heparin, Neo, Levophed (approval may be needed)
• Manage chest tubes, trachs, peritoneal dialysis, CSF drains (preferred skills)
• Support patient care through documentation, IV management, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
• Pass an EKG competency exam prior to start as part of compliance requirements

What You Need

• Valid RN license in Louisiana or ability to obtain
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care RN experience in a hospital setting
• Current BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale certifications
• Ability to work night shifts and adapt to scheduling rotations
• Skills in titratable medication management, support on the unit, and proficiency with EMR systems (Meditech Expanse)
