Job Description

Make a difference in the lives of students by supporting their growth and success as a Special Education Teacher in an engaging school environment near Concord, NC. This contract position offers an exciting opportunity for dedicated professionals with a passion for working with a diverse range of learners.

We're seeking experienced educators for multiple roles—resource/inclusion teachers for 3rd-5th and 6th-8th grades, as well as an elementary self-contained classroom teacher with specialized expertise in significant Autism. The need for a skilled self-contained teacher is especially high, presenting a unique chance for those who thrive on structured, supportive instruction for students with more significant needs.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

Valid teaching certification in Special Education
Background in resource/inclusion teaching for elementary and/or middle grades
Proven experience supporting students with Autism, particularly in self-contained settings
Strong collaborative approach and communication skills with staff and families
Proficiency in developing and implementing IEPs
Ability to foster a positive, inclusive, and structured learning environment

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver differentiated instruction tailored to individual student needs in either resource/inclusion or self-contained formats
Collaborate with general educators, paraprofessionals, and related service providers
Develop, monitor, and adjust IEPs to support students’ growth
Foster social, emotional, and academic progress for students with varied abilities
Engage families in the educational process and maintain open communication
