Special Education Teacher in Kannapolis, NC

Job Description

Make an immediate impact as an experienced Special Education Teacher by supporting students across elementary and middle grade levels. This contract opportunity is ideal for educators passionate about delivering individualized instruction and fostering growth for students with diverse learning needs. Several positions are available, including 3rd-5th grade resource/inclusion teacher, 6th-8th grade resource/inclusion teacher, and a highly prioritized elementary self-contained classroom teacher to work with students with significant Autism.

Desired Qualifications:

Valid Special Education teaching certification
Experience teaching resource/inclusion settings in 3rd-5th or 6th-8th grade strongly preferred
Proven expertise managing and instructing students with significant Autism, particularly in a self-contained classroom
Solid understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
Team-player ready to collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families
Strong organizational and communication skills
Compassion and adaptability to support students across a range of abilities

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction to students in resource or inclusion settings
Design and implement individualized lesson plans tailored to student needs and IEP goals
Provide support in academic, behavioral, and social realms—especially for children in self-contained Autism programs
Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and collaborate in IEP meetings
Participate in professional development and ongoing team collaboration
Create a positive, structured, and safe learning environment for all students
