About the Role
The Company is seeking an Associate Vice President of Philanthropy to play a pivotal role in the organization's next phase of philanthropic growth. This senior fundraising leader will be responsible for leading strategic initiatives across various giving programs, managing a team of frontline fundraising professionals, and maintaining a personal portfolio of high-capacity donors. The successful candidate will work closely with executive leadership, scientists, program leaders, and board members to translate the company's mission and conservation priorities into compelling philanthropic opportunities. Key responsibilities include supporting annual and multi-year fundraising planning, revenue forecasting, and fostering collaboration across development, marketing, finance, and program teams. Applicants for the Associate Vice President of Philanthropy position at the company should have a minimum of 10 years' progressive fundraising leadership experience in a complex nonprofit environment. The role requires a proven track record in securing six- and seven-figure philanthropic gifts, as well as experience in leading and developing high-performing fundraising teams. Strong strategic planning, communication, and relationship-building skills are essential, and experience in major gifts, institutional fundraising, and revenue forecasting is preferred. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic leader with a passion for marine science, conservation, and education, and a commitment to advancing the company's mission.
