Experience a meaningful contract opportunity supporting students as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) across multiple school sites in the Independence, MO area. This full-time assignment spans several campuses, providing a dynamic professional setting where you’ll make a difference during the FMLA leave period from August 24th through September 25th, with the possibility of an extension.

Key Qualifications:

• Current Missouri licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
• Strong knowledge of therapeutic techniques appropriate for school-aged children
• Previous COTA experience within educational or pediatric environments preferred
• Ability to adapt quickly to new settings and engage effectively with diverse student populations and staff
• Excellent organizational skills and time management to serve multiple sites efficiently
• Professional communication and documentation abilities

Core Responsibilities:

• Deliver and implement therapy treatment plans under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, meeting students’ individual education plans (IEPs)
• Travel between various elementary, middle, and high school locations to provide consistent coverage
• Collaborate closely with teachers, other therapists, and support personnel to promote student success
• Record accurate progress notes and track student development and outcomes
• Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment, fostering student independence and functional skills
• Adjust interventions and strategies as needed to meet individual student needs
