ApplicationDeadline: September 15, 2026 IssueDate: August 3, 2026 Los Angeles Trade Technical College (LATTC) is in search of a highly innovative, motivated and dynamic individual seeking to become Dean of Student Services overseeing Counseling, EOPS, LGBTQ, Next Up & CARE, Umoja, Guardian Scholars and Kinship Care and Puente. The Dean of Student Services will provide leadership in the areas of supervision in support of our Pathway to Academic, Career, and Transfer Success (PACTS) student success framework.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master's degreefromanaccreditedcollegeor university .
• Complet i onof one yearoffull-timeformaltrain i ng , internship orleadership experiencereasonably related totheadministrativeassignment.
• Sensitivitytoandanunderstandingofthediverseacademic , socioeconomic , cultural , disability , and ethnic backgrounds of communitycollege students .

2. Accomplishedinparticipatorymanagement , budgeting andfinancialplanning , strategic planning , leadership , problem solving , and team building .

DUTIES&CORE COMPETENCIES:

1. Leads assigned areasinthere-engineering,adoption and integration of best practices to streamline processes and procedures toreduce barriers for student success. Serve as Dean responsible for overseeing Counseling, EOPS, LGBTQ, Next Up & CARE, Umoja, Guardian Scholars and Kinship Care and Puente. Provides direction, oversight and functional supervision to the faculty, staff in areas of responsibility. Provides leadership to program staff to streamline processes, ensure quality in the delivery of services, and monitor enrollments and retention of program participants in Counseling, EOPS, LGBTQ, Next Up & CARE, Umoja, Guardian Scholars and Kinship Care and Puente Works collaboratively with the Vice President of Student Services and Vice President of Instruction Services to bring quality Counseling and other student support services to students within the pathway’s framework. Works cooperatively with other student services programs and services and campus entities to meet the priorities of the college including enrollment targets and student success metrics. Implements effective strategies to increase student persistence. Complies with local, state, and federal laws, regulations, policies, and procedures; and recommends and implements changes as needed in consultation with Vice President. Safeguard the integrity of student records for areas of responsibility. Prepares, disseminates and delivers reports to various campus constituency groups. Performs other duties as assigned within the scope of the position. 2. Stayscurrent i nissues andinitiativesfromfederal , stateand localentities and leads the implementation of these in i tiatives at LATTC . Provides leadership for program review , including improvement and development ; systematic assessment of student progress andlearning outcomes ; andreviewandrecommend changestomaintainrelevantprograms andto meet student and commun i ty needs and accreditation standards . Catalyzes i nvo l vement andcommitment ofstudents , faculty , staff , business , and community members to develop , assess , and strengthen assigned student services programs andthe student experience at LATTC . 3. Mainta i nsinternalandexternalcommunitycommunication onprogramprogress andgoalsandensuresthatstakeholdersarekeptinformed aboutdevelopments and plans . Articulates andchampions thedepartment, division andcollege's sharedmission,vision,andvaluestostudents,faculty,staff,industry partners, associations andotherexternal stakeholders. Setsandattains specificandchallenginggoalsandensures thesuccessful comp l etion of objec ti ves regardless of c hallenges o r difficulties . Creates and maintains opencommunicationsregarding resources , prio r ities , and expectations ofass i gnedstudentsuccessprogramsandpersonnelusingmu l tiple strategies . Develops , empowersandinfluencesfacultyandstafftoachieveprogram goals. Buildsandleveragesnetworksandpartnershipsto advancethemission , vision , and goals ofthe ass i gned departments , prog r ams and college to increase revenue generation . 4. Appliesparticipatory governanceprinciples andcollective bargainingagreementsinafairandconsistentmannerwithfaculty, staff, administrators and students. Overseesthe hiring , managing andevaluation ofstaffandfacultyconsistent with stateand local agreements , regulat i ons and collective bargain i ng agreements (CBAs) . Prepares , monitorsandmanagesdepartmentandprogram budgets . Fostersan atmosphere ofmutualrespectandopennessthatwillpromote collaboration among students , faculty , and staff . Represent StudentServicesandareasofrespons i bility onavariety ofcommittee andsubcommitteesunderthecollege ' sanddistr i ctsharedgovernancestructure . 5. ServesasEveningAdministratoronarotatingbasis. Th i spos i tionmay require non-traditionalwork schedule (including evenings and weekends ) and local , state and national t r avel.

SALARY AND BENEFITS:

The LACCD determines placement on the pay scale depending on verified education and employment history. Current starting annual salary range is from: $175,836 - $206,448 . The doctoral differential is $6,288 per academic year.
