Experience:
- The Manufacturing Engineer supports production operations by developing, optimizing, and maintaining manufacturing processes, tools, and workflows.
- This role ensures products are built efficiently, safely, and in compliance with quality, cost, and delivery targets while supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Design & Producibility: Evaluate designs during reviews to resolve producibility issues and define tooling philosophy.
- Process Planning: Develop Manufacturing Bills of Materials (MBOMs), work instructions, and standard operating procedures.
- Procurement: Issue purchase orders for tooling and necessary manufacturing equipment.
- Production Support: Provide hands-on shop floor support to troubleshoot assembly and machining issues.
- Manual Assembly: Utilizes standard assembly jigs (non-automated) with typical tolerances of +/- .030.
- Precision Machining: 5-axis milling and NC turning for aluminum and stainless-steel components.
- Composites Manufacturing: Fabrication of carbon fiber details and honeycomb structure assemblies.
Required Tools & Software:
- CAD: CATIA V5
- PLM: Siemens Teamcenter
- ERP: SAP
- Continuous Improvement & Quality Standards
- Methodologies: Lean Manufacturing principles and Kaizen events.
- Standards & Controls: ASME Y14.5-2018 (GD&T), PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), and AS9100 quality compliance alongside customer-specific requirements.
Experience:
- 5+ years in manufacturing engineering preferred.
