You will primarily conduct therapy sessions via telehealth platforms, allowing for flexibility in scheduling. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing evidence-based practices to guide therapeutic interventions.

• Provide in-home therapy services as well as outpatient sessions aimed at skill development and behavioral management.
\n
• Assist clients in effectively managing anger, developing coping mechanisms, and enhancing social skills to mitigate high-risk behaviors such as self-injurious behavior (SIB) and physical aggression.
\n
• Collaborate transparently with the Child Family Treatment Team, including social workers, educators, and other mental health professionals, to ensure a holistic approach to care.
\n
• Prepare and submit necessary documentation including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes within designated timeframes, in compliance with organizational policies.
\n
• Engage in monthly case review meetings, actively contributing insights and recommendations to enhance care strategies.
\n

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role focuses primarily on children and adolescents aged 3 to 20 who experience developmental disabilities and other intellectual challenges. You will work closely with families, providing them with the tools and strategies necessary to navigate everyday challenges and improve decision-making skills related to household dynamics and behavioral issues. Your expertise will be pivotal in fostering resilience and advocating for the rights and needs of these vulnerable populations.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field is required.
\n
• An active and unrestricted Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) license in the state of Texas is mandatory.
\n
• Availability for at least 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours (4-7 PM), with flexibility on weekends being a considerable advantage.

• A valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle are necessary for any potential in-home sessions.
\n
• Willingness to undergo a comprehensive criminal background check, including fingerprinting.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in the mental health field, particularly working with children and adolescents in clinical settings.

• Experience with providing positive behavior support and addressing high-risk behaviors is highly desirable.

• Prior work with clients exhibiting developmental or intellectual disabilities is a definite plus.

Compensation and Benefits\n
