Position Overview

Amedisys Physical Therapy is seeking a dedicated and skilled Full-Time Outpatient Physical Therapist to join our Lincroft, New Jersey team. Key Responsibilities

In your role as a Physical Therapist, you will be responsible for:

• Assessing patients' needs through thorough examinations and evaluations, developing individualized treatment plans tailored to their specific conditions.
• Providing direct patient care through hands-on therapy, which may include strength training, manual therapy techniques, and functional rehabilitation exercises.
• Documenting all patient interactions, including evaluations, treatment plans, and progress notes, maintaining compliance with all laws and professional standards.
• Collaborating with referring physicians and interdisciplinary team members to discuss patient progress and any changes to treatment plans.
• Engaging with patients and their families, ensuring they understand treatment goals and discharge plans, and educating them on exercises or therapies they can perform at home.
• Participating in community outreach and educational programs that promote wellness, injury prevention, and physical therapy awareness.
• Supervising and mentoring support staff, including physical therapist assistants (PTAs) and aides, to ensure high standards of care are maintained.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your expertise will be focused on a diverse patient population, primarily consisting of adults recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, and chronic pain conditions. You will also work with elderly patients requiring rehabilitation for mobility issues. This variety will challenge your skills and enhance your ability to innovate and adapt treatment approaches to each individual's unique needs.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• A valid State License in Physical Therapy, ensuring compliance with New Jersey state regulations.
• Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills, essential for effective patient interaction and interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Competency in using electronic documentation systems and word processing software for accurate record-keeping and administrative tasks.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification may be required or encouraged, ensuring readiness to respond to emergencies.

Preferred Experience

In addition to the required qualifications, candidates with the following experiences will be favored:

• A minimum of two years of clinical experience in an outpatient setting is strongly preferred.
• Experience with specialized therapy modalities or techniques, such as dry needling, myofascial release, or aquatic therapy.
• Previous involvement in patient-focused quality improvement initiatives or community health outreach.

Compensation and Benefits
