Registration Coordinator

Job Overview Scheduled Weekly Hours: 24 hours. This is a 24 hour evening shift position from 3pm to 11:30pm, alternating weekdays with one weekend a month. The position also requires alternating holidays. Responsibilities Register patients and update information in the patient’s electronic medical record. Perform a variety of administrative tasks to ensure that patient demographic, financial and mandated information is accurate based on available information. Provide patients and/or family members with required regulatory informational documents regarding their visit or admission. Job Performance Expectations Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position without posing a direct threat to the health and safety of themselves or other individuals in the workplace, with or without a reasonable accommodation. Required Skills and Qualifications Excellent organizational and prioritization skills. Excellent guest relations and telephone demeanor. Ability to professionally handle all interactions within a fast paced, hectic and emotionally charged clinical environment. Ability to think critically and make decisions to ensure urgent or emergent situations are handled correctly within hospital policies and procedures. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent computer skills. High school diploma or equivalent. Preferred Skills Minimum two years of computer experience. Minimum one to two years of experience in an acute hospital setting. Knowledge of medical terminology. Age Specific Criteria Ability to effectively communicate to all age levels served within the scope of the position/assigned areas. Salary and Benefits Salary Range: $18.71 - $28.26 per hour. The pay range reflects the anticipated range for new hires. Actual compensation will be determined based on work history, experience, skill set, and education. Benefits may include healthcare, dental, vision and retirement, if applicable.
