• Lead the design and development of scalable, high-performance solutions using AWS services.
• Develop and maintain ETL processes and data pipelines to streamline critical business workflows.
• Implement and manage Elastic Search engines for efficient data retrieval and analysis.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code in Python and Scala.
• Support modernization efforts of the disease surveillance system, ensuring automated processes function correctly, data integrity, and SEM/SUITE compliance.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to other developers, ensuring best practices and oversight across multiple applications.
• Execute the full software development life cycle (SDLC), including requirements gathering, technical specifications, design documentation, and stakeholder reviews.
• Design logical and physical database models, develop stored procedures, functions, and optimize database performance.
• Ensure system security, stability, and compliance with organizational standards.
• Collaborate in agile development environments, applying test-driven development (TDD) practices.
• Contribute to modernization projects by enhancing functionality, integrating new solutions, and maintaining critical applications.

Required Skills & Experience

• 12+ years developing complex database systems.
• 8+ years with Databricks.
• 8+ years with Elastic Search and Kibana.
• 8+ years with Python/Scala.
• 8+ years with Oracle.
• 5+ years with ETL processes and data pipeline development.
• 5+ years with AWS cloud services.
• 5+ years with data warehousing, visualization tools, and data integrity.
• 5+ years applying CMM/CMMI Level 3 methods and practices.
• 5+ years implementing agile development processes including TDD.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

• 3+ years experience or knowledge of CI/CD pipeline creation using Azure DevOps.
• Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) and HL7 solutions.
• Familiarity with Git and modern source control practices.
• Exposure to flowcharts, screen layouts, and documentation for logical system design.
