Overview

Responsibilities
- Deliver direct nursing care in the ER, including triage, assessment, treatment, and monitoring of acutely ill or injured patients
- Collect relevant data, analyze findings, formulate diagnoses, and develop care plans
- Implement the plan, coordinate care delivery, administer medications and therapies, and monitor patient response
- Collaborate with physicians, ancillary staff, patients, and families; participate in discharge planning and patient education
- Provide appropriate supervision and delegation of tasks to other nursing staff; maintain a safe, clean, and healing environment
- Maintain thorough documentation, uphold patient safety standards, and participate in ongoing quality improvement activities

Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse license in the state of practice (Oregon) or as required by the assignment
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required
- At least two years of recent ER/acute care experience
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced emergency department environment; willingness to travel and commit to a 13-week assignment
- Good communication and teamwork skills; ability to provide patient and family education
