Operations Manager, Office of Residential Education

Budgeted Salary Range: The expected range for this position is $100,023 - $115,000 per annum.The Operations Manager is responsible for providing administrative support to the Assistant Vice Provost for Residential Education and the department's functional areas, under the direction of an Associate Dean. Responsibilities include managing administrative logistics related to community outreach, maintaining relationships with campus partners, and keeping current records associated with the programs and projects they coordinate. The Operations Manager also provides general support to Residential Education and the Dean of Students Office as assigned. The Operations Manager is expected to anticipate the department's needs and proactively solve problems and/or independently resolve issues.The Operations Manager reports directly to an Associate Dean and works closely with colleagues in the department and across the University. This is a 5 days onsite position.The Operations Manager oversees the administrative, operational, and financial functions of Residential Education, ensuring efficient day-to-day operations and effective support for departmental leadership. This role is responsible for managing projects and programs from planning through implementation and evaluation, coordinating office operations, human resources processes, financial administration, space and property management, procurement, and department-wide events. The position serves as a key liaison with campus partners, develops communications and training, monitors budgets and expenditures, and provides strategic recommendations to support departmental goals. Additionally, the role provides executive-level administrative support to senior leadership, manages departmental resources and shared services, and serves as the department's primary Time and Leave Administrator (TLA), Department Property Administrator (DPA), and financial administrator.Core Duties:Independently implement, administer and evaluate day-to-day activities of the unit, function or program by identifying and executing tasks and objectives, making recommendations that impact policies and programs, and assigning resources to achieve the goals of the program.Collect and analyze data, create reports, review and explain trends; formulate and evaluate alternative solutions and/or recommendations to achieve the goals of the program or function.Analyze and interpret policies; develop, revise and implement procedures for program or function.Represent the program or function as the key contact and subject matter expert within the department, unit or school. Commit resources and provide information and/or training. May also represent the program or function to external/internal stakeholders and constituencies.Organize and/or participate in outreach activities that may include developing communications and training, planning/promoting events and/or conferences.May participate in development of budgets, monitor, and approve expenditures. May perform limited forecasting and provide recommendations that determine the budget.May direct staff to perform various tasks and assignments.
