General Construction Project Accountant

Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Project Accountant’s who primary responsibility is to support the General Construction project team supporting large scale projects of over $150 million plus. Incumbents will be responsible for client invoicing, payments, processing complex Schedules of Value (SOVs) related to AIA G702/G703 documents with multiple cost codes, reports, and any other duties related to the project. Accountants may occasionally travel to project sites for job review meetings. This position reports to the Senior Project Accountant.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Manage all accounting related functions for assigned projects.
Assist project teams with any questions or needs related to the accounting department.
Manage invoices, payments, and compliance for assigned projects.
Understand compliance requirements for assigned projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Process vendor invoices accurately using commitments and within assigned timeline.
Process subcontractor AIA G702/G703 invoices accurately and within assigned timeline.
Collect and track compliance documents.
Generate reports including Labor, Contract Status, and Job Cost.
Input owner billings in Timberline.
Job cost report modification.
Other related duties as assigned or needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

Associate or Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or similar business degree.
Minimum 2 years prior experience working as a General Construction Project Accountant or Bookkeeper.
Experience in General Construction Project Accounting a must. This is not a staff accounting position.
Proficient in data entry, accounts payable, accounts receivable and vendor payments using job cost subcontract and purchase orders.
Strong communication skills.
Key competencies are Communication, teamwork, initiative, and dependability.

Salary is $55,000 to $75,000 depending on experience.
