Staff Accountant

Responsibilities

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Staff Accountant in Linthicum Heights, MD.Summary:Our client is seeking a temporary Staff Accountant to support year-end accounting activities and balance sheet reconciliations. This individual will play a critical role in helping the finance team complete reconciliations, research discrepancies, and prepare supporting documentation ahead of year-end reporting deadlines. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can work independently, communicate effectively across multiple departments, and assist with driving projects to completion in a fast-paced environment.

Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• 3+ years of accounting experience
• Strong balance sheet reconciliation experience
• Month-end and year-end close experience
• Experience with Karmak or similar ERP systems
• Dealership, trucking, automotive, or multi-location accounting experience
• Process improvement experience
• Experience supporting external audits and year-end reporting processes
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and formulas
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to research and resolve accounting discrepancies independently
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.


We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
