Minimum Qualifications: Licensure / Certification / Registration: - Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. - One or more of the following: - Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. - BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. - Instructor specializing in Pediatric Adv Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. - Instructor specializing in Advanced Cardio Life Support obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. - Certified Instructor specializing in Basic Life Support obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. - Pediatric Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. Complexity of Work: - Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. - Must be able to work in a stressful environment. Unit Description: - Level 1 trauma teaching facility in downtown Austin. - 53 bed emergency department with volume of 55,000-60,000/year. - 2 charge nurses with physician and nursing residency program.
