Step into a pivotal role supporting high school students as a Physical Therapist on a contract basis. Work with a focused caseload of 15-20 students, helping to achieve their individual mobility and physical development goals during the academic year. This opportunity offers between 20-30 hours each week, providing the flexibility to maintain a work-life balance while making a real impact in a supportive educational environment near Orland Park, IL.
Key Qualifications:
- Licensed Physical Therapist with a background in school-based or healthcare settings
- Experience working with high school students or adolescents preferred
- Knowledge of current best practices for therapeutic interventions in educational contexts
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, administrators, parents, and other professionals
Role Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations of students’ physical abilities and needs
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized therapy plans aligned with IEP goals
- Deliver direct physical therapy sessions and oversee student progress
- Consult with school staff and families to support student participation in academic and extracurricular activities
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for each student on your caseload
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute professional expertise to student support teams
