Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough crisis assessments and interventions for clients experiencing immediate mental health emergencies.
• Provide timely and compassionate counseling services, ensuring individuals receive appropriate support during acute distress.
• Collaborate with law enforcement and emergency response teams as necessary to ensure client safety and effective crisis resolution.
• Develop and implement personalized crisis intervention plans, employing evidence-based methodologies to support clients through difficult situations.
• Utilize crisis de-escalation techniques and therapeutic communication to divert clients from potential harm.
• Engage in continuous professional development by pursuing training and resources to enhance crisis intervention and counseling skills.
• Document client interactions and therapeutic progress accurately, maintaining compliance with legal and ethical standards.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with individuals experiencing severe mental health crises related to substance misuse, trauma, and emotional distress. The clients you encounter may range from those facing acute addiction challenges to individuals in the midst of emotional turmoil. Your ability to build a therapeutic alliance and provide culturally sensitive support will be vital in helping clients navigate their recovery journeys.

Qualifications

• A Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
• A valid license as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the state of Florida.
• A minimum of three years of recent experience in crisis intervention and mental health counseling.
• Demonstrated proficiency in evidence-based crisis intervention techniques and trauma-informed care.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, allowing for the establishment of trust and rapport with clients.
• A strong, culturally sensitive approach to working with diverse populations, ensuring inclusion and empathy.

Preferred Experience

Compensation and Benefits
