Description
- Conduct thorough evaluations on pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients through standardized assessments and observation techniques.
- Create tailored treatment strategies that cater to immediate goals and longer-term speech, cognitive, or swallowing challenges.
- Implement individualized therapy sessions aimed at enhancing communication, language fluency, voice clarity, and swallowing capabilities.
- Work collaboratively with fellow healthcare providers, including physical and occupational therapists, nursing staff, and physicians, to develop integrated care plans.
- Provide educational resources to patients and families to facilitate progress beyond therapy sessions.
- Occasionally participate in inpatient evaluations and interventions, ensuring seamless care throughout the treatment experience.
- Keep precise, timely documentation that aligns with all relevant state, federal, and institutional directives.
- Stay informed on the latest advancements in the field via continuing education and collaborative networking with peers.
- Possess a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
- Fulfill a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if you are not yet ASHA-certified.
- Holding a state license as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
- Expertise in evidence-based practices for individuals of all ages, with a deep understanding of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing issues.
- Exceptional communication skills with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Ability to adapt therapeutic strategies to address a variety of cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Strong clinical acumen and problem-solving capabilities.
- Familiarity with electronic medical record systems and documentation requirements.
