Patient Coordinator
Pride Health is hiring a Patient Coordinator to support our client's healthcare facility in New York, NY.
Schedule: 37.5 hours/week, 5 days/week - 9:00 AM 5:00 PM (subject to change)
Location: New York, NY 10029 Job Type: Local contract
Contract Length: 13 Weeks Pay Range: $20$21/hour *Pay offered is based on experience, expertise, credentialing, and education.
Duties:
- Greet patients in person or via telephone.
- Update patient demographics and insurance information.
- Verify insurance and confirm physician participation with the patient's insurance.
- Process HIPAA-related paperwork and institutional forms.
- Collect or retrieve referrals and insurance authorizations as required.
- Monitor the waiting room and keep patients informed of wait times.
- Collect or verify patient co-pays and provide receipts.
- Schedule follow-up appointments as needed.
- Answer practice phones and schedule appointments.
- Follow HIPAA and applicable requirements for handling PHI.
- May initiate reminder calls for next-day appointments.
- May perform simple charge-entry or payment-entry tasks.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Education: High School Diploma/GED required.
- Years of experience: Minimum 1 year of physician practice experience.
- Skills/Specialties/Technology: Insurance verification, Patient scheduling
