Patient Access SpecialistWhat You'll Do As a Patient Access Specialist, you'll serve as the first point of contact for patients, helping create a smooth and welcoming experience while supporting critical front-end operations.Schedule, reschedule, and cancel patient appointments efficiently and accurately.Complete pre-arrival registration by adhering to established registration standards.Check patients in and out, ensuring all required information is accurate and up to date.Verify and enter patient insurance coverage details with a high level of accuracy.Collect applicable self-pay payments and provide clear explanations to patients.Manage and resolve assigned work queues (WQs) to support department workflows.Handle patient messages (phone and in-person) and route communication through the electronic in-basket system.Perform insurance verifications and obtain prior authorizations as needed.Provide departmental support while maintaining excellent customer service and professionalism.What We're Looking ForHigh School diploma or GED required6 months to 1 year of relevant experience preferredAdditional education in Business or Healthcare (or equivalent experience) preferredExperience in a healthcare, medical office, or receptionist setting preferredKnowledge of medical terminology, including ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codesStrong computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office, email, and internet useExcellent customer service and communication skills (written and verbal)Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain accuracy and productivity in a fast-paced environmentExperience with patient registration, insurance verification, and health insurance plans preferredPay$17.00 – $25.25 per hour, based on experienceBenefits & PerksMedical, dental, and vision insurance403(b) retirement plan with company matchTuition reimbursementCompetitive Paid Time Off (PTO)Employee discount programWhy Join Us?
