HR Generalist

Reports To : VP of Human Resources

Job Summary

We're looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented Temporary HR Generalist to support both Corporate and Retail teams across the U.S. and Canada, with a strong focus on our Retail population. This role manages the full employee lifecycle—including recruitment support, onboarding/offboarding, HR operations, compliance, scheduling, reporting, and systems administration. This role bridges administrative HR support and strategic HR partnership, ensuring smooth daily HR operations while contributing to broader people initiatives. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast‑paced environment, builds strong relationships, and delivers a consistent, compliant, and positive employee experience

Key Responsibilities

• Support recruitment efforts: manage job postings, screen applicants, coordinate interviews, and maintain ATS accuracy.
• Lead onboarding from offer acceptance through Day 1, ensuring full compliance and a seamless new hire experience.
• Manage offboarding, including system removals, exit interviews, and termination processing.
• Maintain accurate employee data across HR systems (Paychex, Employee Navigator, Y2) and run biweekly/monthly HR reports
• Conduct monthly file audits, support benefits eligibility updates, and prepare HR expense reports.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws; support quarterly Wage & Hour updates.
• Support culture and engagement initiatives, including events, new hire welcome kits, and workspace readiness
• Participate in HR projects such as onboarding redesign, handbook updates, intranet integration, and system rollout

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
• 3–5 years of HR Generalist or recruitment experience
• Strong understanding of HR operations, compliance, and HR systems (Paychex, ATS, Employee Navigato
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with urgency, discretion, and attention to detail
• Experience with multi‑state U.S. employment laws is a plus
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint); advanced skills a plus.
