Hospital Laboratory Technician 2

Job Summary This position supports Departmental purposes by providing skilled technical laboratory support to Transfusion Services in accordance with California Business and Professions Code Section 1269 and under the direct and constant supervision of a Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS). Within this specialized field of Transfusion Services, the incumbent will perform a limited variety of specialized laboratory procedures and duties according to FDA and AABB regulations. The position utilizes a generalized theoretical background which directly supports patient care. The Laboratory Technician performs scheduled maintenance and quality control on complex automated equipment and instruments, ensures timely and accurate specimen receipt and accessioning, and prepares/ processes various blood products. They oversee inventory for the department, answer telephones, file, run reports, collect data, and perform required record‑keeping. The incumbent may also provide laboratory technical instruction and training to new Clinical Laboratory Scientists, Residents, and CLS students. Apply By Date: July 27, 2026 at 11:59 pm.
