Fund Accountant

A fast-growing alternative investment firm is expanding its private credit platform and hiring a Fund Accountant to join its internal accounting team. This is a high-impact role within a lean organization where fund accountants work closely with investment, operations, and senior leadership. The firm manages multi-billion-dollar private equity and credit strategies for institutional investors and is adding headcount due to continued platform growth and the launch of a new credit vehicle. The Opportunity This role is ideal for someone with private equity fund accounting experience who wants deeper exposure to credit investments, hands-on operational responsibility, and a collaborative team environment. You’ll be involved in daily fund activity, quarterly reporting, investor communications, and performance analytics. What You’ll Work On Daily cash activity, bank reconciliations, and liquidity tracking Journal entries and accounting for credit instruments (interest, PIK, amortization, accretion) Maintaining accurate general ledger and fund-level financial data Management fee calculations and expense allocations Supporting investment activity and coordinating with internal teams Preparing capital calls, distributions, and investor notices Quarterly GAAP financials and capital account statements Performance metric calculations (MOIC, gross/net IRR) Assisting with audits and ad hoc internal reporting Who Thrives Here 1–4 years of private equity fund accounting experience (required) Credit fund experience is a plus , but not mandatory Public accounting or fund administration backgrounds both fit Strong understanding of fund structures and investment accounting Advanced Excel skills; familiarity with WSO is a bonus Detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable in a fast-moving environment Team-focused with strong communication skills This role is onsite, 5 days/week in Andover, MA Why This Role Stands Out Newly created position driven by platform expansion Direct exposure to private credit investments and senior leadership Lean, collaborative team with real upward mobility #J-18808-Ljbffr
