Trademark Legal Coordinator (Intellectual Property)

Chicago, IL (Hybrid)

Salary: $75,000 - $85,000 + Bonus Potential

LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a respected law firm in Chicago to identify a Trademark Legal Coordinator to support a busy Intellectual Property practice. This is an excellent opportunity for an IP professional with trademark experience who enjoys managing deadlines, coordinating filings, supporting attorneys, and maintaining intellectual property portfolios in a collaborative legal environment.

This role is ideal for a Legal Coordinator, IP Specialist, or junior-to-mid-level IP Paralegal seeking to further develop their intellectual property career while supporting trademark prosecution matters and portfolio management.

Key Responsibilities

• Support attorneys and legal professionals with trademark prosecution matters and IP portfolio administration.
• Prepare, review, and file trademark-related documents with the USPTO and other agencies.
• Maintain and update trademark records, filings, and docket information.
• Track critical deadlines, renewals, filings, and correspondence through docketing systems.
• Coordinate domestic and international trademark filings with outside counsel and vendors.
• Prepare status reports, filing confirmations, and portfolio summaries.
• Open new matters and maintain organized electronic records and databases.
• Schedule meetings, coordinate calendars, and assist with department administrative needs.
• Communicate effectively with attorneys, clients, and third-party service providers regarding ongoing IP matters.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of intellectual property experience, with a strong emphasis on trademarks.
• Experience supporting trademark prosecution, filings, docketing, and portfolio management.
• Prior experience as an IP Legal Coordinator, IP Specialist, Legal Assistant, or IP Paralegal.
• Experience using Anaqua is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of USPTO procedures and trademark lifecycle management.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and deadline management skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced legal environment.

Preferred Skills

• Experience coordinating international trademark filings.
• Familiarity with intellectual property docketing systems and portfolio management software.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with attorneys and legal support teams.
