Shift: 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM

Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 24 months of Medical Surgical - Orthopedic Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.

• Experience with Epic is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Nebraska license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

Additional Details:

Required Credentials: - Pass/fail open-book exam on Friday during orientation; must score 90% to pass.

Special Requests: - An interview may not be available prior to offer. - Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained. - Each employment history entry must include detailed duties, hospital size, unit size, trauma level if applicable, patient ratio, and whether the facility is a teaching facility. - At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you are applying to. - Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit and shift at the facility. - Will approve a limited amount of block scheduling. - RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions.

Unit Details: - Common patient populations/diagnoses include MedSurg/Tele patients with joint replacements, fractures, colon resections, COPD exacerbation, prostatectomy, cellulitis, sepsis, ortho trauma, GI bleeds, pneumonia, and failure to thrive. - Titrate heparin, lidocaine, and ketamine drips; PCA pumps used. - Tele techs will interpret strips; RNs should have some telemetry awareness. - Mechanical lifts in every other room. - High-turnover unit with multiple discharges and admissions in one day. - Serves patients of diverse cultures, including Spanish, Karen, and Burmese populations.

Shift & Scheduling: - Typically every other weekend, though additional coverage may be needed based on department demand. - Schedules are posted 6 weeks in advance, with manager adjustments as needed. - 2-3 holidays from Thanksgiving to New Year’s.

Floating Requirements: - Float to other medical-surgical areas or units with MedSurg patients waiting for a MedSurg bed.

7 days maximum time off. Facility holidays: 11/26/2026, 12/25/2026, 01/01/2027. Number of holidays allowed off: 1. Start assignment restriction: 14 days

1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 12 months
