About the Position

Job Title: RN - MedSurg/Tele Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Day Shift Hours per Shift: 36 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Medical-Surgical/Telemetry License: Active RN License Certifications: BLS Must-Have: - Strong background in Medical-Surgical/Telemetry - Ability to provide direct and indirect patient care - Strong interpersonal communication skills - Ability to work collaboratively - Solid written and oral communication skills - Ability to tolerate moderate to high stress levels - Experience reading telemetry strips - Skills in chest tubes, tracheostomy care, PIV starts, drainage and tube management, PCA pump management, and medication management Description: RN position available in Medical-Surgical/Telemetry. The facility features 885 licensed beds and is designated as a Level 1 Trauma Center and Teaching Client. The unit provides care for 29 beds with a patient ratio of 1 RN to 5-6 patients and 1 CNA to 9-10 patients. Patients commonly present with general medicine conditions, such as diabetes, gastrointestinal issues, respiratory problems, renal issues, wounds, and require dressing changes. Candidates should have experience with chest tubes, tracheostomies, lab draws, and various medication management for PCA pumps. Support within the department includes CNAs, charge nurses, and shared responsibilities with phlebotomy. Rapid response, respiratory therapy, hospitalist, and intensivist services are available 24/7. Telemetry monitoring is centralized with advanced equipment and technology. The unit fosters a patient-centered culture with an emphasis on reliability and teamwork.
