NHS UK
Pharmacist Position
We are looking for highly motivated, enthusiastic, adaptable pharmacists who can demonstrate that they meet our Trust values. You must be able to work as part of the Pharmacy, and wider multi-disciplinary team, to deliver excellent pharmaceutical care and services to our patients.
The Department of Pharmacy at CUH is ambitious and forward thinking, striving to ensure that the patient is always at the heart of everything we do. We are a large department with over 300 staff comprising of approximately 100 pharmacists and 70 pharmacy technicians. We have a dedicated Education and Training team to support the learning and development of all our employees.
You will join a friendly team of 14 Resident Pharmacists providing pharmaceutical services and support our Pharmacy's out of hours service on a rotational basis.
You will undertake a rotational training programme which includes Clinical Services, Dispensary, medicines information, clinical trials and Preparative Services. Each rotation incorporates dedicated clinical time and you will gain experience across a range of clinical specialities including Medicine, Surgery, Neurosciences, Paediatrics and Oncology. During your early years, you will be provided with a wide range of opportunities to develop the skills, behaviours and attitudes that you will continue to use throughout your career in hospital Pharmacy.
Free accommodation in a shared flat is provided with this position. You will receive guidance and feedback to aid your development as well as gaining additional support via our clinical supervision programme. We run regular pharmacist teaching sessions within the department which includes dedicated rotational pharmacist teaching sessions delivered on a variety of topics by specialist pharmacists as well as external speakers.
We fund a range of postgraduate pharmacy practice diplomas to support our pharmacists through the first few years of their careers; all pharmacists undertaking these programmes are assigned a personal tutor from within the department.
