You'll deliver engaging instruction for elementary students in the dynamic New Orleans area, playing a key role in their educational journey. This contract position ensures you work closely with students while collaborating with school staff to create a supportive, productive classroom environment.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid Louisiana Department of Education teaching certificate required (no Temporary Authority to Teach—candidates must hold active certification prior to start).
• Prior elementary teaching experience preferred.
• Strong classroom management skills and ability to adapt to varying student needs.
• Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Able to meet district credentialing including drug screening and fingerprint requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lessons aligned with curriculum standards.
• Adapt instruction to address individual learning styles and needs.
• Foster a safe, respectful classroom environment that promotes student engagement and achievement.
• Monitor student progress, assess learning outcomes, and maintain accurate records.
• Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and school administration to support student success.
• Attend staff meetings, professional development, and participate in school community activities as required.

Details & Expectations:

• Contract dates: August 3, 2026 – May 27, 2027.
• Schedule: Monday through Friday, full-time (35 hours per week; 7 hours per day, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch).
• Placement location(s) and caseload details to be confirmed prior to assignment.
