Make a meaningful impact supporting students as a virtual Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing for the 2026-2027 academic year. This contract role is designed for passionate educators who are eager to bring their expertise and compassion to a remote educational environment, serving students in need of specialized instruction and support.

You will connect with students via VOCO, delivering individualized and group instruction tailored to their unique learning styles and communication needs. With a full-time schedule of 35 hours a week (7-hour days plus a 30-minute unpaid lunch), you will collaborate with school staff and families to help each learner thrive throughout the school year.

Qualifications:

  • Current, valid Louisiana DOE Certificate
  • Valid teacher certification in your state of residence
  • Proven experience as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
  • Ability to engage effectively in a virtual classroom setting
  • Commitment to professional and timely communication
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct virtual instruction for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
  • Develop and implement IEPs in collaboration with school teams
  • Adapt materials and instructional methods to meet individual communication needs
  • Track student progress, maintain records, and attend virtual meetings as needed
  • Foster a positive and inclusive online learning environment
  • Work closely with parents, teachers, and support staff to ensure student success
