About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Interventional Radiology Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day 4x10-Hour Hours per Shift: 10 Hours Experience: Minimum of 2 Years in Critical Care or Procedural Background License: Requires MO or Compact License Certifications: BCLS, ACLS, EKG Exam (Relias) Must-Have: Critical care experience; ICU or ED background or procedural background required. Ability to work independently. No visible tattoos; facial piercings must be removed or covered. Description: This position involves performing all adult interventional radiology procedures related to body, vascular, and neuro interventions. The work schedule consists of Monday through Friday, with 4 ten-hour shifts. On-call responsibilities include weeknights from Monday to Thursday and some weekends. Agency nurses may be required to stay past their scheduled shifts if procedures are incomplete. Expect to work every 5th or 6th Saturday as needed. The average daily patient census is 8 patients per nurse. Nurses may work beyond scheduled hours if procedures are ongoing. Key responsibilities include administering sedation and monitoring patients during procedures. Procedures involve titrating drips, central lines, CT-guided procedures, and bone biopsies. Experience with Philips monitors is desirable. The role includes pre-procedure and post-procedure care, as well as making pre-procedure phone calls. The facility treats a wide range of diagnoses and disease processes, including interventional oncology and vascular disease. Skills required include interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, monitoring procedural sedation, and ventilator management. This is a high-level trauma center with interdisciplinary support from various services. Candidates will be assessed for their required skills and experience prior to employment.
