EH&S Manager

Amgen seeks an Environmental Health and Safety Manager for its Cambridge, Massachusetts process development site. The role involves leading contractor safety programs, maintaining high-hazard work protocols, conducting inspections and audits, and partnering across laboratory, facilities, and engineering teams to ensure compliant and safe operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead contractor safety oversight including review of work plans, risk assessments, permits, and field verification of critical controls
• Own and maintain high-hazard work programs including confined space, hot work, LOTO, fall protection, and machine guarding
• Conduct field inspections, audits, and risk assessments while engaging workers and supervisors in hazard recognition and safe work practices
• Support incident investigation, causal learning, and corrective action follow-up; document and share relevant learnings
• Serve as EHS client representative for assigned process development laboratories and participate in site governance and continuous improvement activities

Requirements

• Master's degree, or Bachelor's with 2 years EH&S experience in scientific/technical settings
• Associate's degree with 6 years EH&S experience, or high school diploma with 8 years experience
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) credential preferred
• Demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams and influence management
• Strong communication, presentation, and project management skills
