Details BMT Oncology unit within a large, short-term acute care Magnet and Level I Trauma teaching hospital Floating is required throughout the Oncology department as needed — not exclusively assigned to one unit Patient ratio of 4:1 across all shifts Average daily census of 30 on a 32-bed unit Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM Every other weekend required Procedures include autologous stem cell transplants and chemotherapy administration Epic EMR — experience required Scrubs: Navy Blue Requirements Active MO RN license or Compact RN license valid in Missouri required Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, ONS/ONCC chemotherapy certification Must pass a Relias EKG exam; telemetry interpretation and dysrhythmia management required Minimum 1 year of oncology/chemotherapy nursing experience required Epic EMR experience required Required clinical skills: chemotherapy administration, port access and management, blood and blood product administration, central line blood draw, central line/implanted line care, PICC line care, IV insertion and maintenance, antibiotic and antiemetic administration, Foley catheter insertion and management, isolation precautions, telemetry monitoring and interpretation Additional Information First-time travelers are welcome to apply Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility — local candidates are not accepted RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract; no RTO during the first week of orientation Former permanent employees of any BJC facility must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler Travelers may work at this facility for up to 18 months, after which a 3-month break in service is required before returning Parking passes are available at various nearby lots and garages at the traveler's expense; free parking is available for straight night shift workers Job Details American Traveler Job ID #P-704847.
