Assistant Project Manager

Job Description At IMC Construction, our Assistant Project Managers play a key role in keeping projects organized and moving forward. You’ll work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and field teams to support all phases of a project, from preconstruction through closeout. What You’ll Do Support Project Execution: Assist in managing projects from post‑bid through closeout, helping ensure alignment between scope, schedule, budget, and client expectations, and supporting coordination across internal teams and trade partners. Assist with Preconstruction & Buyout: Work with Estimating and Project Management to support bid packaging, scope review, and the buyout process, ensuring subcontractor scopes are complete and coordinated. Support Financial Management: Assist in developing and tracking project budgets, monitoring cost performance, and supporting change management efforts; review subcontractor invoices and contribute to owner pay applications. Support Schedule & Coordination: Assist in maintaining the project schedule in collaboration with the Superintendent and Project Manager, and help coordinate materials, trades, and logistics to keep work progressing as planned. Build Strong Relationships: Maintain positive working relationships with clients, design teams, subcontractors, and internal team members, communicating clearly and professionally in written and verbal interactions. Support Safety Efforts: Work with field leadership and Safety to uphold IMC’s “Safety First” culture, supporting the implementation and consistent execution of project‑specific safety plans. Contribute to Team Success: Support the team in day‑to‑day project activities, taking initiative, staying organized, and contributing to a collaborative, high‑performing environment. Skills & Requirements Preferred 4‑year degree in an accredited construction‑related curriculum (BSCE, BSCM, BSAE, etc.) or equivalent experience. Three years’ experience as Project Engineer or Field Engineer. Demonstrated competency in scheduling, procurement, budget/cost control, financial reporting, client relationship, interpersonal skills, computer skills, written and oral communication, leadership and organization. Ability to read, understand, and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project schedule. Proficiency in PC‑based scheduling and spreadsheet applications (Primavera, Procore, Timberscan, Excel, Word, P6, etc.). OSHA 30‑Hour certification preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
