Step into a rewarding contract position supporting student success as an onsite paraprofessional near Newark, DE. This role is dedicated to providing one-on-one support for a full-year medical leave at an elementary school, working weekdays with consistent hours and a midday break. The caseload requires a male paraprofessional, aligning with student needs.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Delaware Paraeducator Permit required at application—no exceptions for permits in process (pending permitted only with proof via DEEDS portal).
  • Proven experience as a paraprofessional in a school setting, ideally with elementary-aged students.
  • Willingness to complete required background checks, including $85 CBC fingerprinting.
  • Strong communication skills, flexibility, and a collaborative approach with teachers, students, and staff.
  • For Registered Behavior Technicians: supervision must be secured independently outside school hours; RBT title and related responsibilities will not be acknowledged within this assignment.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Directly support an assigned student throughout the full school year to foster a positive, inclusive educational experience.
  • Assist with classroom activities, adapt instructional materials, and facilitate participation in daily routines.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the supervising teacher.
  • Collaborate with educational staff to accommodate learning and behavioral goals.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to district policies at all times.
