Job Description

Are you ready to make a meaningful difference in the lives of preschoolers? Exciting openings are available to support early childhood classrooms as a Paraprofessional, with a focus on implementing Behavioral Support Plans (BSP). These onsite contract positions offer the opportunity to work hands-on with young learners who have IEPs and BSPs, helping create a nurturing and engaging classroom environment.

You will partner closely with teachers to provide essential assistance across two preschool settings. The role involves supporting students with unique behavioral needs—including behaviors such as tantrums, aggression, and elopement—and reinforcing effective behavioral strategies. This position offers a structured Monday through Friday schedule, totaling 35 hours each week, with a daily 30-minute unpaid lunch.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

Active Delaware Paraeducator Permit required (permit must be complete and verifiable)
Experience in early childhood education, special education, or as a preschool paraprofessional highly preferred
Familiarity with supporting students who have IEPs and implementing BSPs
Comfortable with addressing challenging behaviors in a calm, proactive manner
Able to function effectively within an onsite team setting
Capable of paying for required $85 CBC fingerprinting as part of onboarding

Key Responsibilities:

Provide direct classroom support to preschool students with special needs
Implement individual behavior and instructional support plans
Assist with redirection and positive behavior interventions throughout the school day
Collaborate with teachers and specialists to maintain a safe, supportive learning environment
Document and communicate student progress and behavioral observations as required
