Job Summary:
Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical Surgical Orthopedic Floor located in Omaha, Nebraska. This position involves providing patient care on a 55-bed unit that treats various orthopedic and medical surgical conditions, including joint replacements, fractures, and GI issues. Candidates are required to bring their license on their first day.

Job Details:

• Location: Omaha, Nebraska
• Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, with 36 hours minimum per week
• Certifications: BLS (American Heart Association) required; ACLS preferred
• Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, BLS certification, a minimum of 2 years of medical surgical nursing experience, and ability to read telemetry strips. Candidate must meet the radius rule of 50 miles from the facility and provide a drivers license at submission.
• Preferred Qualifications: ACLS certification, experience handling titratable drips such as Heparin, lidocaine, and ketamine, and familiarity with electronic medical records system EPIC.
• Schedule: Nights, hours vary as per shift, with scheduled days posted 6 weeks in advance.
• Additional Information: Floating to other MedSurg units may be required; unit has a nurse-to-patient ratio of approximately 1:5-6, with nurse aides and telemetry techs supporting patient care. Virginia Blue scrubs required, two days of unit-specific orientation, and there is a focus on hourly rounding and responsiveness.
• Notes: Candidates must pass a skills exam during orientation with a 90% minimum score; artificial nails are prohibited; and there are specific policies related to the floating, holiday, and RTO requirements.
