About the Role
The Company is in need of an Associate Vice President - Investment Counsel to join its in-house legal team. The successful candidate will be a trusted legal advisor to the investment business, providing support for a diverse portfolio of institutional and alternative investment activities. This includes structuring, reviewing, and negotiating fund documentation, investment management arrangements, and other transaction-related agreements. The role also involves advising on legal, regulatory, governance, and operational considerations, as well as supporting entity management and general corporate legal matters. Applicants must have a J.D. with an active U.S. bar admission and approximately 5 years' of relevant transactional legal experience. While not mandatory, familiarity with the insurance industry is valued. The ideal candidate will have experience within an institutional investment organization, asset manager, insurance investment group, financial institution, or a law firm with a strong investment funds/private equity/asset management practice. Strong drafting, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills are essential, as is the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced business environment. The role requires a professional who can deliver practical, commercially focused legal advice that facilitates investment activity while effectively managing legal and regulatory risk.
