Accounts Payable Clerk – Full Time – Virginia Beach, VA. Role Overview The Accounts Payable Clerk ensures accuracy and compliance of payments and invoicing. A significant portion of job functions are performed onsite. Job Responsibilities Perform administrative assignments such as scanning documentation and reviewing workflow. Physically sort and distribute the department’s incoming mail. Research returned checks and utility bills for payment or nonpayment. Monitor and respond to inquiries in the department’s email inbox and voicemail. Support staff to ensure timely processing of payments through various software systems. Review payments and backup for accuracy. Research vendor inquiries about payments and invoices. Minimum Qualifications Education: High School diploma or equivalent (GED) required. Experience: Minimum one year of general office experience; preferred minimum one year of accounts payable experience. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to work in a high transaction volume environment; knowledge of accounts payable policies/procedures and best practices; strong verbal and written communication skills; basic knowledge of Excel; good math skills; good time management and organizational skills; detail oriented and strong interpersonal skills; strong customer service focus; strong sense of teamwork and work ethic.
