Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity making a difference in the lives of K-12 students as a Special Education Paraprofessional. Serving students near Citrus Heights, you’ll provide invaluable support—either one-on-one or as a classroom resource—helping to foster growth and inclusion in dynamic school environments. This position begins as soon as possible and continues through May 29, 2026, offering 30 hours per week during regular school hours.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
- Demonstrated patience, empathy, and understanding when working with students with diverse abilities and special needs.
- Strong oral and written communication for effective collaboration with teachers, specialists, administrators, and families.
- Experience implementing behavior support plans and utilizing positive behavior intervention strategies in line with district guidelines.
- Confident in providing instructional assistance, adapting lessons, and reinforcing content under certified staff direction.
- Flexible and adaptable in meeting individual student needs and varying classroom settings.
- Commitment to confidentiality, professionalism, and ethical standards.
- Strong attention to organization, observation, and recordkeeping to aid in data collection and student progress monitoring.
- Ability to follow individualized education programs (IEPs) and help students achieve academic, social, and behavioral objectives.
Main Responsibilities:
- Support learning, engagement, and socialization for K-12 students through individualized and group interventions.
- Assist with classroom management and foster a positive, inclusive environment.
- Adapt lessons, prepare materials, and monitor student progress in partnership with education teams.
- Maintain confidentiality and document student growth and data accurately.
- Work flexibly in various settings as student and classroom needs evolve.
